It is our great pleasure to introduce our new IntLawGrrls contributor Poonam Shokar. Poonam is a doctoral candidate at the Irish Centre for Human Rights at the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUI Galway). While her area of expertise largely focuses on Economic, Cultural and Social Rights (ESCR) within International Human Rights law, she also has academic interests in the areas of International Criminal Law, UN Peacekeeping and Global Politics and Economics. Having completed her LLB in Human Rights at Aberystwyth University, and her LLM in International Human Rights Law at NUI Galway, she hopes to obtain her doctorate to then go into academia and prepare for the bar to in future provide ESCR pro-bono services. She is very honored to be joining as a Contributor at IntLawGrrls and looks forward to contributing further in the future.
