It is our great pleasure to introduce our new IntLawGrrls contributor Mihika Poddar.
Mihika is a final year law student at the West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences, India. She takes an active interest in issues of human rights law and discrimination theory. Her work with think tanks and policy organisations such as the Centre for Policy Research and Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy have given her an insight into the nuances of socio-legal policy debates. Further, she has interned with Justice DY Chandrachud, Judge at the Indian Supreme Court and has been a research assistant to several scholars and academics. She has been actively involved with the local queer community, enabling greater access to legal aid, helping in creating greater awareness of rights as well as lobbying for better and effective legislative protection of their rights. Mihika has previously worked on legal issues surrounding accessibility, discrimination, gender and sexuality, as well as human trafficking. She has written on several topics of contemporary relevance from a rights-based lens and wishes to further explore disciplines at the intersection of law and social justice.
Heartfelt welcome!
