Introducing Anna v. Gall

Anna-dc4d284dIt’s our great pleasure today to welcome Anna v. Gall as an IntLawGrrls contributor.  Anna received her legal education in Göttingen, Hamburg, Berlin and Kiev. She specializes in Immigration Law, International Relations and in the field of Women’s Human Rights. She has worked in Namibia, Brussels and in Georgia. She is a member of the Coordination Committee Against Impunity of Amnesty International in Germany, the Women’s Security Council and has been volunteering as an election observer for the Organization for Security and Co-Operation in Europe/Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR).

For the European Center for Constitutional and Human Rights (ECCHR), Anna coordinates work on Gender and Human Rights and looks for ways to pursue gender-specific proceedings in order to dismantle fixed gender stereotypes and the discrimination they might facilitate. She further develops strategies how to combat impunity of state and non-state actors, who committed conflict-related gender-based crimes.

Anna’s introductory post today reflects on corporate liability for human rights abuses through the case study of a criminal complaint filed by the ECCHR against an employee of a German-Swiss corporation for liability for human rights abuses in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Heartfelt welcome!
